My September Skincare Favourites

Its true to say that My August Favourites just completely past me by.  I was determined this month for that not too happen, as I have so much to tell you about the new skincare items I have been using for the last 12 weeks. I always like to make sure that I give the products a good go to really test their metal as it were. First off the bat is my Facial cleanser, Soap and Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser. I mentioned this in My July Hit or Miss on Beauty and Skincare take a look.

My next find literally made me feel sick as I handed my money over to the girl on the Charlotte Tilbury counter, for Charlotte's Magic Cream, it is admittedly a little pricey, but boy does it pack a punch! This jar of wonderfulness is so multitasking in its ingredients it makes us women who are renowned for our multitasking prowess into well ...A MAN. I have so far not come across a cream that really made me gasp when I read all it can do. So here we go, in this cream there is Bio-nymph peptide complex which fights for the skin on the anti ageing front. It stimulates collagen production and cell energy and fights free radicals, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and smooth the skin. A hyaluronic acid booster called Sodium Hyaluronate which engulfs the skin with moisture,  an infusion of rose hip oil and vitamin E, now if you have been reading my blog for a while you will know anything that has Rose Hip in naturally gets my attention.

Charlotte Tilburys MAGIC CREAM has an SPF15 which if you are using the Nip+Fab Glycolic cleansing pads then you will need this. A mix of rose hip oil, camellia oil and anti-oxidant vitamin E which helps to transform the skin from a grey complexion into hydrated, mirror-shine skin, nourishing Vitamin A helps improves skin firmness and smoothness and energetic Vitamin C is able to promote collagen activity for more youthful skin.• Damask rose water and organic aloe vera benefit skin regeneration. I love in this part where Charlotte discribs  "Extracts of Frangipani, the symbol of eternity, form a soothing, purifying and hydrating comfort-blanket on the skin". This instantly makes me what to slather this all over my face to experience this "comfort blanket".

Next in line is my nightime cleanse or the first cleanse with Ponds Cold Cream, apparantly Kylie Minougue uses this and if its good enough for Kylie, well its good enough for me. I slather this over my made up face and work it into the skin. It slowly melts the make up and then I take a cotton pad drenched in a micellar water ( I will have a post up soon on the best Micellar water) and swipe over my face to remove the cream. I really like the cream it does the job of removing your makeup and also leaves your skin feeling soft and plump and for only £5.49 from Boots great little find.
I then swipe over my face the Nip+Fab Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads. This is new to me all the Glycolic acid melarkly, but it does intriugue me to how it works. It works by giving you a gentle face peel. "PEEL" you say "im only swiping cotton wool pads over my face not striping it". I know, I said the same but I did my research and these are amazing things. It contains Glycolic Acid which is brilliant for the following it safely removes the outer layer of dead skin cells bringing new skin to the surface. This is benefical for those who are looking for ingredients that help with anti-aging, Glycolic acid can help also help lighten discoloration of the skin, like sun spots or age spots and help those with acne prone and blackhead prone skin. It retextures and resurfaces to give your skin a brightening effect, Hyaluronic acid which moisturises and refreshes, and blue daisy which soothes and calms. My skin within a week looks brighter and my age spots on my cheek disappeared. My skin feels so smooth and I have less blackheads. The only downside if you are using Glycolic Acid you need to make sure you use SPF on your skin to protect it from the suns rays, as it can be vunerable.

I then smooth over The Body Shop Drops Of Youth Concentrate Serum. I had heard about this in the bloggersphere and it was on my list next to try when my No7 serum had finished. It a lovely serum smoothes, freshens, and feels more supple.I really like the packaging on this instead of a perpet it has like a button you press at the top to draw the serum up, just a little something different which i like. My final product that i put on before i finally get into bed is Drops Of Youth The Body Shop Bouncy Mask, sounds fun doesnt it? It is, check out my post on this in My July Hit or Miss on Beauty and Skincare to get the full load down.

So there you have it my current skincare favourites. Have you tried any of these? Can you recommend any of your favourites that you think i should try? I would love to hear from you.

Jo Malone New Fragance Mimosa & Cardamom

I was recently invited to Jo Malone, to try out their new fragrance which was launched for Autumn. It is the perfect Autumnal tone, although I will talk abit about the fragrance, I wanted to talk more about the experience that the lovely people at Jo Malone give. I took my mother with me for a little treat, and for a well earned shopping expedition. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly, bubbly lady, but to be fair, if I was breathing in the exotic fragrances daily, I would certainly be happy bunny!.

We were offered a refreshing lemon, lime and mint ice water, and then the lady took us through their new range. Mimosa and Cardamon comes in a body wash which the lady washed our arms with and then with a hot flannel wiped away the suds. The smell of the fragrance hits you with the warmth like a fake fur throw blanket, which is perfect note as the season changes.
She then massaged in the fragrances body lotion, which was very relaxing, and we discussed the ingredients of the new fragrance. Mists of honeyed, golden mimosa float above the spiciness of freshly crushed cardamom, creamy tonka and smooth sandalwood woven under powdery heliotrope and Damask rose picked at dawn. After receiving this amazing speech I was thoroughly excited about trying the next stage of the experience, but although the lady did her best to sell the product to me, I could not help but feel that this fragrance just didn't do it for me. I think Jo Malone outdid themselves last year with their Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne, which I literally bath myself in daily, I simply cant get enough.
It was such a relaxing experience and I would recommend it to anyone to give this service ago, why not swing by and have a smell of the new Mimosa and Cardamon, you never know it might be your next fragrance!.

We had a fabulous time at Jo Malone, why not go on in and give it try.
Have you tried their new fragrance? What did you think of it? I would love to hear from you.

Autumn/Fall Look- Orange is the new Black featuring - Luxemme

Jumpsuit_fall_autumn_orange_luxemme
I think we can safely say Autumn has arrived in the U.K. There has been a chill in the air each morning, although officially its not till the 23rd of September, nature it seems has other ideas. It looks like the 1970's trend is not leaving us as we move into a new season. With this in mind I wanted to share with you this fierce Lilou Jumpsuit from the Limited Edition, in Orange, which I recently picked up from a new fashion brand Luxemme. Luxemme is a forward thinking fashion brand combining Parisian chic with Manchester street style. The brands clothing is made in Manchester and they have really got their style down to a mixture of chic, luxurious fabrics with those fine details which sets them apart from other brands and as a added bonus with a realistic price tag. I chose this colour as there is no getting away from bold colour's this Autumn / Fall. I decided to style this 3 ways so you can see how versatile this outfit can be.

I teamed up with the Jumpsuit layered gold necklaces from Topshop, Black clutch from Topshop (see my review) and Stone coloured sandals from New Look. Great outfit for a night out or a Autumnal wedding.

My second outfit I teamed with a Navy blue trench coat from Primark for the change is seasons, and Navy Wool Hat from H&M Fashion to give it a polished yet more casual feel. This look is perfect for shopping or just going out for afternoon tea.

My next and final look is for a laid back weekend feel, mixing Converse Hi-Tops, Leather Jacket (my own from nearly 15 years ago) Black Beanie and Topshop Tote Bag in Black to complete the look.

So there you go my take on styling this seasons Jumpsuit. Don't forget to enter naybeautymua in the promo code box to receive your 10% off any items . What do you think of this outfit? Have you checked out Luxemme uk great style pieces? Let me know in the comments I would love to hear from you.

Baking and Shaking Make Up Trend

Baking, and no I am not talking about the Great British Bake Off, baking is a make up technique. Its been used for years by the drag queen community and has found its way down to the highstreet. It has also become more popular of late with the likes of Kim Kardashian sporting this make up technique.
This make up technique is not for the faint hearted though. It can make your skin look flawless on photos, but in real life its very obvious you are wearing A LOT of make up. I would though give it a go as it looks great in photos.

Heres how I achieved this look. Take a cream concealer, I used Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and draw a triangle shape under the eyes, a line down the center of the nose, cupids bow, forehead and under the cheekbones.
My impression of a Badger

Blend with a sponge, I used my Beauty Blender (see my review) or for a budget sponge Real Techniques Miracle sponge is a good alternative, and then press transulent powder over the top, I used Illamasqua translucent loose powder and let it sit on there and then "BAKE" said in my best Sue Perkins impression (this is the baking process) and get on with applying the rest of your make up. At the end take a Fan brush or a big fluffy brush and sweep off the excess, then you are ready for any photo opptunity that may come your way.

Been aware though this can be abit addictive if you like wearing alot of make up, you will like this as your skin is FLAWLESS.

So, thats my take on Baking, a classic make up technique. Have you tried this look yet? Why not have a go, afterall its only make up.

My Minimal Quick Make up for Summer

With the warm weather its always a good idea to change-up your make up. You do not want to be going to all the effort of putting a full face of make-up on only for it to be melting off in the sweaty heat, its never a good look. So its really nice to pair down your make-up to help your skin to breathe and feel the benefit of the warm sunshine.
I always look to my base first, as this should always be changed according to seasons. I have been swapping my foundation for Bourjois 123 perfect cc cream mixed with Collection BB Secrets. I know, I know why use a cc cream and bb?  Well I will tell you, the CC does the correcting, it corrects the colour in the skin and gives a light coverage, but for my skin type I found it a little dry and matts my complexion too much for a summer glow. By adding a BB cream which on its own doesn't have enough coverage, but gives the skin a beautiful fresh glow.  I have been blending this all in with my beautiful Beauty Blender. I so wanted not to like this as it is pricey and everyone waxes lyerical about it. Then I thought what kind of reviewer would I be not to try it! I gave it a go, and Im so glad I did! Its well worth every penny, the bouncy, spongey, awesomeness of it. When I first received it, it looked tiny, but once I washed it it swells 3 times its original size and then your good to go. It blends like a dream and it is up there for my must haves. I then add Nars creamy concealer under my eyes and around my nose and on any blemishes, the coverage on this is very impressive, but the only draw back is that it creases like a cheap suit under your eyes! This is my only annoyance with this product, so I let it go and carry on regardless making sure I prep my undereye well before applying.

My next step is to lock all this hardwork in. I have been using my Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour Kit again, (check my review out on this product) which I had put away when I moved away from contouring, but found a new little mix in using it. I have been using the three shades banana and vanilla to set under the eyes and then Sand just lightly under the eyes too and its give a subtle glow. Ive began moving slowly to the A/W 2015 look of flushed cheeks. Yes girls I am here to report that contouring is going to be put to bed for a while and the flushed fresh cheek glow is making a comeback. I have been popping on Mac cream blush in somthing special. Its a pretty light coral colour and then adding Becca Skin Perfector in champagne pop (see my review on this product) on the high points.
For my eyes I have really loved using the Lorac Pro Palette. I have been keeping it minimal with using white and cream over the whole eye up to the brow bone, then in the crease nude and taupe just to shape the eye. I then curl my lashes shu umera eyelash curlers, then add Lashings of black mascara, still using  Maybelline lash sensational, (see my review on this product) its a great mascara, have you tried it yet?. I then swipe over a little lipstick, I have been using Mac lipstick in Brave, which is a pretty pinky beige and just gives a nice nude colour to your lips.

So, there you go my take on minimal make up for the summer. Have you tried any of these products? What products have you been using this summer? I would love to hear from you.

Whats in my Make up Bag - Maggs London

I thought it would be good to share with you a summer minimal make up that I have been using while its been so warm. First, I have to introduce you too this stunner of a Make up bag from Maggs London. Hannah Maggs, the designer, has a you tube channel called The Michalaks and I have been watching her for the last three years. She is a Makeup Artist, and I used to watch her Makeup tutorials, then she had a beautiful baby boy, and changed direction with her Youtube channel, to do weekly family vlog diaries for her son to watch when he grows up. I think its a lovely memento and better than any memory box could give. Anyway, I digress, back to the Make up bag. There are eight glorious designs to choose from, all made with limited edition Liberty print material. I chose the Truly scrumptious design, just because I think make up is like sweeties, something sumptuous and delightful.
When the Make up bag arrived I was so pleased. It was wrapped beautifully in tissue paper and a personal note had been written by Hannah herself. This is what I enjoy about family run businesses, those little personal touches I feel that really make a difference to your purchase. Not only receiving a superb product, but also having that warm feeling that you have supported a family run business is a great feeling.

The bag itself is very deceiving , you think it looks small, but It reminds me of  a Mary Poppins kind of bag, in which you can fit all manner of bits and pieces in. I could even fit my Real Techniques Bold Metals 300 brush in, and thats saying something!. The bag is a quilted design and is soft and flexible in a way that I can fill it with all my everyday make up. The inside is a waterproof material which is perfect for giving a little wipe out, should you have any make up mishap. Also a little thing, but I like the invisible zip, its silly I know, but the invisible zip just gives it that added class and an individual note to it. Its sturdy to, speaking from experience when I caught my toddler ramming his cars inside the bag, and pulling the zip back and forth, to say I went hysterical would be an understatement!

I think the bag speaks volumes in its use but also beauty, it would rival many a makeup bag put against it. Next week, I will go through what minimal make up I have been wearing.
I have you see or bought a Maggs London Make up bag? I would love to hear from you.

New make up trend- STROBING

It wasn't that long ago that I was banging on about contouring, and now we are facing a said 'New Make up trend', Strobing. This makes me laugh, as being know as a 'new trend'. Its a extreme form of highlighting people! It will probaly surprise you, that you have been doing a subtle form of this trend for ages! This is such a great look though. It makes you look radient, fresh faced and gives you that youthful glow. So, I am all over this, never fear ladies, I will take the confusion out of this new found trend and talk you through all the  products I have been using, and the techniques to achieve this look.

The key to this look is a layering of cream highlighter, then subtle powder highlighter, and then a heavy duty highlighter, just over the high points, to add that extra 'Bing'to your skin. So, first choose your cream highlighter, there is quite a few that I like. I will (check out my review on this product) try and restrain myself and stick to an old favourite, It is an oldie, but a goodie, Benefit High Beam as my cream highlighter and Mac Mineralize skin finish in Soft and Gentle (check out my review on this product)for my powder. To add that 'bing' in a few well chosen spots, Im using YASSS!! Jaclyn Hill's collaboration with Becca - Champagne pop. I literally squealed when this came through the post and proceeded to remove it from its package with such care, that you would of thought I was holding my first born child again, for the first time!!. This highlighter is a peachy, pinky, gold, a very warm colour and it packs a punch. If you want your highlighter to be seen from NASA in space, this is for you. These products are perfect to achieve this look.

After you have applied your make up to your whole face, take your cream highlighter and apply on high points of your cheeks, top of your brows, top of your cupids bow, the middle part underneath your lower lip, chin and down the bridge of your nose, blending and patting the product into the skin. Then take your first powder and go over these parts again, I am using the Real Techniques Setting brush as its precise and soft which will blend nicely, you can use any small fluffy brush for this though.

Then get a pencil brush, I am using the Crown brush C431 and Becca Champagne pop and apply underneath the brown bone, end of the nose, cupids bow, inner corner of the eyes, and on the cheek bones, and just watch them 'Pop'. I like to finish this with Mac Fixx+ which gives a dewy finish too the skin, but is perfect for when you are using this much powder on the skin to bring the skin back to life.
Mac Soft and Gentle, Benefit High Beam, Real techniques Setting brush and Crown C431 Brush

So, thats my take on 'Strobing'. Have you tried it? Or is it what i said in the outset? You have been doing a subtle version all along. Will you be dropping contouring for this trend?. I would love to know what highlighters you have been using to achive this look.
